The May 2010 elections has finally been closed. Right now, the whole country awaits the new leaders of the country and hopes for a better Philippines after its first automated elections in the history of the Philippines. Although there were several glitches and complaints that were raised, the election was a success. Many are hoping that the final count of the election returns be announced within 36 hours. I just wish that the Filipinos have voted for the right candidates and that the new set of government officials be worth of the position and the power they hold to bring the Philippines up on its foot and to be a globally competitive nation.

I toured the city yesterday and I noticed that a lot of new buildings have sprouted there were also some ongoing constructions and the equipment they were using were enormous. They also have their industrial equipment on the construction site. Of course, I was not able to enter the site because it was restricted for a civilian like me to enter those places but the equipment they were using can be seen outside the walls they used as borders. I wonder which of these buildings will be finished first. I think there will be new malls too.

I remember the days when entertainment was at its best from the television screens. When I was a child, we did not have much time to go out and play. Instead, we stayed at home sitting in front of the television and watching the regular shows that the network stations air everyday. Now, fewer children go out in the streets to play, many of the children today stay indoors and playing computer games or watching programs from their television sets. Many today can afford an LCD TV which makes viewing more and more entertaining and exciting. I guess maybe people are just getting more and more attracted to the digital world. I miss the child laughs I hear whenever I pass by the road to school. The happy faces of the children running around seem to have become rare these days.
