At last! I’m finally back at my room here in the house that we are renting near the university. I took the 9:20am flight from my hometown, Davao to Manila and Arrived past 10am at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Back at the Davao International Airport, I met an orgmate of mine and we boarded the plane together although we were at different seats. The flight took an hour and 45 minutes. When we left the deplaned, I met my orgmate and he was with another friend of ours who was also in the same flight. So we the three of us taxied, rode the bus and finally I am home.

At the baggage area after arrival, I noticed that while some passengers pack light, there are those who pack big time. Their shipping boxes flooded the conveyor belts of the airport and from what I saw, the boxes were filled with pomelo from Davao. Davao is famous not only for its Durian but also for its pomelos and other fresh fruits. Since we are regular flyers taking flights every now and then during school breaks, I personally did not bring pomelos as I think they are too heavy to bring and too bulky to carry. So I managed to buy the infamous Durian candies as “pasalubong” for my friends. Right now I am tired from my travel and I want to rest. The strong rain is perfect for me to relax.

My friend called me and told me he’s coming to visit me. I was surprised that he was coming since he lives an island away from here. He told me he is dropping by since he is taking care of his requirements for his masters degree. He plans to enroll next semester. Anyway, the real reason why he called me up is because he wants me to meet him at the airport so that he can have someone to carry his luggage. In exchange, I asked him to bring me one of my favorite fruits, Durian. Well, I really love to eat that fruit. I miss home.

I wonder, where would he be staying in the meantime? I think I have an idea. I better clean up my place before it is too late. He’ll be arriving by Sunday which means I have three days to prepare. Maybe he’ll be staying here but I am afraid I cannot accommodate him much. Oh well, guess I’ll find out.
